Work Surfaces

Here at Mid Ulster Granite we offer a large selection of work surfaces including kitchen worktops, vanity tops, bar counters, catering counters and table tops. We import materials from all over the world, giving customers a large range of granite and composite stone to choose from. This combined with our team of highly skilled workforce, ensure that all our customers needs are met. Most products are kept in stock and can be obtained in 20/30/40mm thickness.

Granite

Granite is one of the oldest, hardest and strongest natural stones available. It is a naturally occurring material and comprises of some of the hardest materials including Quartz and Mica which produce natural depth and colour. As it is extremely hardwearing, it is not easily marked or damaged and therefore has become increasingly poplar for work surfaces and has become an 'affordable luxury'. It is available in hundreds of different colours and is highly durable for work surfaces.

Zodiaq

Zodiaq, on the other hand, is a solid surfacing material which is comprised of 93% natural quartz, which is one of the hardest surfaces known to man, and also one of the most intriguing. This quartz content gives Zodiaq its twin characteristics of beauty and strength. Also it’s naturally non –porous which makes it stain resistant. This makes it hygienic and simple to clean – stains like fruit juice and wine, which can ruin some stone surfaces, are easily removed using ordinary house hold cleansers. Overall Zodiaq keeps its lustrous sheen without the need for sealants and waxes, making it very low maintenance.
